Soilless Agriculture
Hydroponic farming models are being implemented all over the world and are being tried by more and more people every day. This system, which is based on meeting the nutritional needs of crops not from the soil, but through water or air, also attracts the attention of our innovative farmers. You can find detailed information about soilless farming types such as hydroponic farming in our article.
What is Soilless Agriculture?
Imagine a new system in crop production without soil, waste, pesticides, and soilless agriculture is the answer to this dream. The soilless agriculture system, which is the answer to the question of whether a production that is more cost-effective, uses less chemicals, is done in a narrower area, and uses resources efficiently, can be applied vertically or horizontally. Soilless agriculture, which enables our farmers to have more control over production and saves time and effort, is seen as the agricultural model of the future. Soilless farming is practiced with different techniques.
Types of soilless cultivation are given below.
* Hydroponic Still Water Culture
* Hydroponic Flowing Water Culture
* Aeroponic System
* Solid Media Culture
The following hydroponic growing method will be used in your greenhouse.
Hydroponic Still Water Culture
It is a system based on placing the plants in ponds at a certain depth and ensuring that the nutrient solutions are only taken from the roots and that these nutrient solutions are changed at certain intervals.
Hydroponic Flowing Water Culture
It is the cultivation of plants in channels where nutrient solutions are continuously or intermittently poured into the plant roots with a closed system. It is applied in two ways as nutrient film technique (NFT) and deep water culture.
Aeroponic System
It is a method in which the plant roots are suspended in the air and the necessary nutrients are sprayed to the plant roots continuously or intermittently in the form of mist or steam. It provides water and fertilizer savings compared to other systems. Compared to other systems, the number of plants grown per unit area is twice as high.
Solid Media Culture
In solid media culture, organic and inorganic materials can be used separately or together in different proportions by completing the characteristics of each other in order to create the most suitable growing environment. Media cultures are divided into open and closed systems according to the application of the nutrient solution.
Open System: The solution drained from the plant root zone is discarded.
Closed System: The solution drained from the root zone of the plant is collected and recirculated in the system. Closed systems are more efficient in terms of environmental protection as they save water and fertilizer compared to open systems.
Solid Media Culture Materials
The following materials will be used in your greenhouse where you will do soilless farming.
Plant Hanging Wires
Along the front and rear facades of the greenhouse, the ropes are connected to the columns. In the inner columns, connections are made across the width of your greenhouse.
* All Ropes: Galvanized
* Front and Rear Front Ropes: 8 mm
* Inner Column Ropes: 4 mm
* Number of Tunnel Ropes: 12 Rows
* Tunnel Ropes: 3 mm
gutter
Gutter is the product in which the solid media culture will be placed.
* It is made of specially painted, galvanized sheet.
* Height: 108mm
* Width: 200mm
* Sheet Expansion: 600 mm
* Color: Top White, Bottom Galvanized Gray
* Paint Thickness: 7 micron (4,-3%)
